Drafted by the NBA Boston Celtics and was their final cut in the fall of 1964. One of the true stars of the early ABA. Member of the ABA West All-Star team in 1968 (with Oakland Oaks) and ABA East All-Star team in 1970 (with New York Nets). Known for his phenomenal drives and twisting shots. Stong, quick and aggressive with great ball and body control, could spin in mid-air and shoot with either hand. In Spring of 1968, led New Jersey Americans to tie for last playoff spot. in 1969-70, led the Nets to their first full playoff series in which the Nets carried the Colonels to 7 games. Fan favorite at Island Garden. Played for six ABA teams in four years.

Fans' favorite . . . Nets offense is geared to take advantage of his speed and fantastic offensive repertoire . . . two weeks after Roy Boe bought the Nets he bought Tart sight unseen from the Denver Rockets, who didn't use him much and wanted to unload him . . . he came cheap and has paid rich dividends . . . played in the Eastern League until ABA was born . . . MVP in 1964 NIT when Bradley won the title . . . averaged 24.1 points as Nets' top scorer last season . . . Nets representative in 1970 ABA All-Star game in Indianapolis.
