In the early days of the ABA, teams would do just about anything to put fans in the seats.
In 1972 the Kentucky Colonels, hoping to increase their (already) male fan base, decided to feature the Playboy Bunnies in a halftime spectacular.
The outmatched Bunnies faced a team made up of local TV, newspaper and radio personalities. Since few of the Bunnies had ever played basketball before (let alone handled a confusing red, white and blue ball), it was not a pretty sight. Or - maybe it was!
