Danny Granger, Tyler Hansbrough, Roy Hibbert, & Co. will wear the 1971-1974 ABA Pacers "racing stripe" uniform.
The Pacers have previously worn the home/white version of this jersey for throwback purposes. Now current NBA fans get to enjoy the road/blue version.
Led by fiery coach Bob "Slick" Leonard, the Pacers won back-to-back ABA titles wearing this particular uniform, in 1971-72 and 1972-73. These years were the "golden years" for the Pacers. And, basketball fans around the country viewed this particular uniform as the "face of the ABA" due to the Pacers' ABA success.
Many of the Pacers who wore this jersey are legends in their own right: Roger Brown (at right photo, # 35), Mel Daniels (at left photos, #34), George McGinnis (at right photo, #30), Freddie Lewis, Billy Keller and Bob Netolicky. |
